Master bedroom refresh

For my winter project this year I decided it was time to refresh my master bedroom. I still loved the wall color, so I didn’t have to repaint any walls. I decided that I wanted new bedding, so I started there. I found a white comforter that had some embroidery on it. The color was neutral with some grays and golds in it. I always start a bedroom with the bedding. This gives me a starting point to the room….a direction to go.
I also have this setee in the room to work with. I used these colors as my starting point.
I was shopping at my favorite vintage store one day and found this beautiful federal buffet. I couldn’t resist…this piece had to be part of the room!
I already had this fireplace in my room, I just moved it to a different spot to make room for the buffet. The top is a hand carved antique that my husband’s great grandpa carved. I painted it white and added a mirror in the middle.
I rearranged my shelves and added some family pictures and souvenirs from travel.
I found the nightstand from the same vintage shop. The milk glass shades on the sconces are from the 1950’s.
I also found a milk glass lamp on Etsy that is also from the 1950’s. The quilt I have in the basket is a find from the vintage shop.
I really love the way the room came together. It is a very cozy collected style.

I'm Erin, a busy mom of three, chauffeur, cook, housekeeper, and wanna be decorator. I love old movies, good books, and a daily trip to Lowes. We have recently bought a new home...one we are fixing up and changing everything. This blog is to record our renovating journey. This is not the first house we have done. Actually, it is our third. My husband and I love a project. Any project. We both love working on our home, have the same taste, (which is great), and love working and re purposing things on our budget. We can show you how to put together a high end and creative look without breaking the bank. Taking something old and recreating it into something new and exciting for any room is my passion. Hope you enjoy this decorating journey with us!
