Finished vintage theater room

This past fall and winter we have been working on refreshing our theater room. I have a few before pictures of the room. When we first bought our current home, the theater room was this crazy blue color and wow…it really had to change!

We built columns, changed the paint color to gray and added some built ins.

I really liked how it turned out, and it really made the room seem more current and modern.
I decided to keep the built ins and moldings white and paint the room a deep green. I searched colors, and found that I loved 1905 green from Magnolia’s line of paint.

Painting the room was fun and I loved the color on the wall and how it made the white columns pop. I found the snack cabinet at a local vintage store. It is was an old craftsman built in cabinet that was in a 1920’s home. I stained it, and now have the perfect place for treats.

I found a flexsteel reclining sofa that took a year to be delivered, but I love it. I found some leather recliners to put on the upper level which are comfortable and work great.
I wanted the room to have a very vintage feel to it, and feel like it was still a part of the style of our home. In order to achieve the look I wanted, I need to find artwork that fit the space. I searched for art from some of our favorite movies, and found the perfect pieces on Etsy.

I framed and matted the pictures which gave the room a much more styled theater room look.

I searched my favorite antique store for some more fun vintage items and I found this cool 1930’s projector sitting in their window. How perfect is that! I added some of my favorite vintage pieces to the shelves to complete the room.

This was a very fun room to update, and I love the way it turned out!

I'm Erin, a busy mom of three, chauffeur, cook, housekeeper, and wanna be decorator. I love old movies, good books, and a daily trip to Lowes. We have recently bought a new home...one we are fixing up and changing everything. This blog is to record our renovating journey. This is not the first house we have done. Actually, it is our third. My husband and I love a project. Any project. We both love working on our home, have the same taste, (which is great), and love working and re purposing things on our budget. We can show you how to put together a high end and creative look without breaking the bank. Taking something old and recreating it into something new and exciting for any room is my passion. Hope you enjoy this decorating journey with us!
